Senior Procurement Officer Sea & Air Freight

You are responsible for the strategic purchasing of sea and air freight with a focus on relations between Asia and Europe. You negotiate terms and services with shipping companies and forwarders and tune the services with the requirements and needs for our business with Product Management, Sales and Key Account Management and Operations teams. You work with the legal department and work with ready-to-subscribe service contracts. You analyze flows of goods and procurement markets, comparative terms and services from different providers and cover optimization approaches that you are taking strategic action recommendations for management. You care and monitor the purchasing conditions in the SAP TM system and work with our IT service team. You always have a look at the transport market, test the market situation and geopolitical influencing factors exactly and secure the required freight space for the Würth Group and our customers in the required service quality – with imminent bottlenecks you warn early. With an active service provider management, you monitor the performance with defined KPIs, develop the existing partnerships strategically and build new relationships with service providers with complementary services. You have a commercial training or a study in BWL / Economics – ideally focusing on logistics / forwarding. You have several years of professional experience in the strategic purchasing of sea and air freight, especially on the routes between Asia and Europe. You know the dynamics of freight markets – and use this knowledge in a targeted manner in negotiations with carriers and service providers. You drive projects forward independently – structured and solution-oriented – and bring them to an end cleanly, even if it becomes turbulent. You go openly to people, move safely in international and intercultural environments and build sustainable relationships – even across borders. You can communicate in German and English at a safe level. The working day also offers you the possibility to use other foreign languages. You're ready approx. 10-15 percent of your working time for meetings with business partners in Europe and Asia. You can control the MS Office programs. Knowledge in SAP TM is a plus.
