Professorship (m/w/d) for Business Informatics

The Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (DHBW) is the largest university in Baden-Württemberg with around 33,000 students at nine study academies and three campuses as well as the Center for Advanced Studies. Together with 9,000 selected companies as well as social and health-related facilities, DHBW provides an excellently qualified specialist and managerial growth in the fields of business, technology, social and health. At the DHBW Heilbronn, some 1,550 students are currently studying in the BWL degree programs Commerce, Services Management, Food Management, Digital Commerce Management and Technical Management (B.A.) as well as Wine Technology Management, Business Informatics and Data Science and AI (B. The professorship is located in the degree program Business Informatics. The course of study is currently in Expansion and was offered for the first time in October 2020 at the DHBW Heilbronn with the fields of study Business Engineering, Data Science and Software Engineering. He spreads the arc between the three areas of economic informatics, economics and computer science. In teaching, applicants (m/w/d) will be able to cover, in addition to IT foundations, IT management, IT infrastructure, IT architectures and IT security, above all aspects of software engineering. The tasks also include the supervision of project and bachelor's work. In addition to the takeover of courses, you will participate in the further development of the study offer in teaching and research in cooperation with our dual partners. Particular attention is paid to the use and further development of our laboratories in teaching and research. The takeover of tasks in academic self-management is assumed.

In-depth knowledge is required in the following areas: IT security, IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, and digital transformation technologies and methods. Good contacts to the economy and practical experience in the planning, construction, operation and security of IT infrastructures are of advantage. The applicant must also be willing to participate in scientific development, in particular through research and scientific training. A special level of commitment, willingness to cooperate with the companies and institutions involved, as well as willingness to work on the committees are expected. In the event of the appropriate conditions, the recruitment shall be carried out in an official's relationship to rehearsal, otherwise in an indefinite employee relationship. The transfer to the civil servant's relationship to life as a professor is usually possible after three years of probation in the civil servant's relationship.
