Drive technical solutions for sterilizable packaging of containment components for pharmaceutical customers, work with cross-functional development teams and work with strategic suppliers to develop and improve packaging systems in life cycle management (LCM) and Customer Development Agreements (DA) projects. As a member of the LCM Component Packaging Team, act as a subject matter expert for component packaging and close work in multidisciplinary and international groups with global engineering, procurement and quality assurance to drive technical decisions which support West's business objectives. Key responsibilities include engaging with various project teams and functional groups at West to develop packaging critical to the integrity of West's products, supporting complex supply chain and in the sustainment of commercial packaging. .

Technical packaging lead for Research and Development efforts related to product design and development processes from conceptualization to commercialization Engage with cross-functional teams to develop new packaging solutions Develop innovative packaging solutions to support business growth and enhance West's position as an industry leader in containment and delivery Responsible for creation and maintenance of packaging elements for design history file (DHF) for all assigned projects including design inputs, risk analysis (FMEAs), test protocols, and design verification Support customers and suppliers as required for the development of new packaging solutions Coordinate packaging activities for engineering studies and protocols through internal and contract packaging laboratories Deliver technical reports, executive summaryes and presentations to communicate activities and timelines to management and core team members Identify and drive continuous improvement efforts within the packaging group

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in packaging, mechanical, chemical engineering or related engineering or scientific discipline Desirable: Master's degree or other advanced graduate-level degree in a related field Minimum of 5 years of professional experience and a proven track of projects led within international, cross-functional teams Proven understanding of engineering fundamental principles with a passion for technical / scientific writing and working with new materials, manufacturing processes and test methodologie Ideally previous knowledge or experience with aseptic pharmaceutical processing Technical project leadership experience Excellent knowledge of English, written and spoken Strong written/ verbal communication skills for effective work in cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams Effective problem-solving abilities and strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong technical writing abilities Travel requirements: 10 % – up to 26 business days per year
