The Catholic office Mainz represents the interests of the Rhineland-Palatinate (Erz-)bishop at the seat of the Landtage and the state government of Rhineland-Palatinate. It ensures the communication of the Catholic Church in Rhineland-Palatinate to government, ministries and country day, to political parties, social groups and associations.

(interest)representation of the Rhineland-Palatinate Bishops in national policy Head of the Catholic Office Mainz Support, consultation and information of the (Erz-)Bischöfe, Generalvikare, Plenipotentiaries and other diocesan leaders in national, communal and church policy issues Establishment and maintenance of contacts and networks on the state day, state ministries, other state authorities, political parties and social institutions in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate Development of the Church's agricultural policy positions, in particular in the educational areas of school, college, daycare facilities and further education, and in the areas of caritas, health and care and social security Development of joint opinions of the Rhineland-Palatinate dioceses, in particular in the case of consultation procedures for the establishment of laws and regulations Close cooperation with the Evangelical Office and with the Catholic Office in Berlin and other Catholic country offices

Complete university studies in the fields of theology, politicalology, law, pedagogy or in a comparable field Multiannual relevant professional and management experience in the Church, a public institution or association Experience with political decision-making processes A applied, safe and communicative appearance, a keen contact and a capacity for network work, structured working methods, sound expertise, negotiation skills and readiness to deploy Ability to work together in the team, enjoy challenges and chronological flexibility, even in evenings and weekends Affiliation to the Catholic Church and knowledge of ecclesiastical culture and structures as well as experiences in the design of worship services
