Conception, development and further development of a Green IT and Energy Efficiency Management for the IT infrastructure and IT services of the data center (Green-IT-Office Ostfalia) as part of the joint project “Academic Green IT Alliance” (Hochschule.digital Niedersachsen, Säule A2 LANIT) Calculation, analysis and continuous updating of key figures for energy consumption and energy efficiency of the data center (e.g. PUE, degrees of utilization); Construction and further development of a granular measuring and counter infrastructure for determining performance indicators Planning, coordination and documentation of measures to increase energy efficiency in data center operations, the introduction and further development of a local energy management system (e.g. according to DIN EN 50001) and the procurement and use of energy-efficient hardware close cooperation with the data center management as a directly assigned staff unit – advisory, coordinating and conceptually on all topics of green IT and energy efficiency; Preparing policy proposals and recommendations for action Analysis and modelling of existing technical and organizational processes in the data center in terms of sustainability as well as derivation, prioritization and monitoring of optimization measures (e.g. optimization of cooling and ventilation concepts, replacement of outdated infrastructure, use of energy-efficient solutions such as virtualization and consolidation) Conception and partial implementation of tools to support energy management, monitoring and documentation (e.g. scripts, interfaces, evaluations, dashboards) structured documentation and coordination of processes in the context of energy and environmental management in IT operations as well as other regulatory and RZ internal requirements (e.g. EnEfG, DIN EN 50600, “Blue Angel” for data centers) Establishment and maintenance of a central knowledge base on Green IT (e.g. guidelines, operating manuals, emergency manuals, documentation of measures and best practices) Planning and implementation of information and training measures on Green IT and energy-efficient IT operations for employees of the data center and other areas of the university active participation in the nationwide Green‐IT Association (Academic Green IT Alliance), participation in working groups and workshops, the introduction of the Ostfalia perspective and the adoption of tasks in the cross-university knowledge and experience exchange

completed relevant university studies (master or corresponding university degree) preferably in an MINT course strong technical understanding of IT infrastructures, data center operations, networks, server and storage systems as well as IT operating processes Ideally, you can already experience in one or more of the following areas: energy and resource management in the IT context, green IT or data center planning, energy management systems (e.g. according to DIN EN 50001) or environmental management systems; IT service management, process documentation and process modelling (e.g. BPMN), monitoring and reporting solutions for infrastructure and consumption data You have a high level of communication and coordination and security in handling technical departments, building management and management. Complex technical and organizational issues can be documented and presented in a way that is appropriate to address, structured and comprehensible. You work independently, systematically and in a solution-oriented manner and take responsibility for cross-sectional issues. You are team-oriented and enjoy developing structures, processes and quality in a sustainable manner. Interest in sustainability issues and the connection of ecological responsibility with modern IT infrastructure are available. Detection of German language skills at the level C1 of the GER is assumed.
