Number: MER0003WMH This is what we expect: Our Charging Functions department in R&D (research and development) is responsible for the holistic development of charging functions for our electric vehicles. Our projects aim to build the most desirable electric vehicles in the world. Our team consists of enthusiastic colleagues with a wide range of skills. Together with our partners we develop the charging experience of tomorrow – at home, on the go or in the B2B context. With the help of agile development methods, we convert the most promising concepts into non-functional prototypes or later into functional prototypes and, on this basis, promote customer-centric, iterative product development. As part of your student work (15h-20h/week) you will be dealing with questions about the future of electromobility. The future charging experience of our customers is the focus. Our customer experience approach is holistic – we look at all touchpoints of our customers from the website, apps and ads in the vehicle, to the Wallbox and the public charging network. You can contribute your expertise in the field of user research or UX design in different projects, depending on your personal interests. Your tasks: Explore the current and future needs of our customers together with our internal Mercedes Customer Research Network

Visualise user journeys and customer interaction patterns (in Car & off Car/mobile) for different user groups (Personas)

Designs User Interfaces for our digital touchpoints in the vehicle and the app

Test concepts and ideas and use customer feedback actively to develop concepts iteratively

The activity can begin from March 2026.

Advanced Study with User Research or UX Design Focus e.g. UX Design, Product Design, Media Informatics, Psychology, Sociology, or comparable training

Secure knowledge of German and English in word and writing

With Profile User Research: Experience in creating quantitative study designs (Surveys, online experiments) or in qualitative testing of concepts and prototypes (e.g. usability tests, interviews) Of advantage: experience in statistical evaluations such as correlations, regressions, group comparisons

With profile UX Design: Experience in creating UIs based on customer requirements/user stories and superior design guidelines Advantage: Experience in handling Figma and ProtoPie

Personal competencies: Excellent human & communicative skills such as team orientation, reflection and enthusiasm
