As a German Central Library of Technology and Natural Sciences, our pioneering services ensure the infrastructural requirements of high-quality information and literature supply for research in science and industry. With the Open Research Knowledge Graph (ORKG), we work to revolutionize the exchange and use of scientific knowledge in the digital age. The Technical Information Library (TIB), Programme Area C, Research and Development, Lab Research Data Services, is seeking to implement the project “Nds-WiDax - Interactive Data Exchange between Research Data Repositories by means of knowledge graphs in the Lower Saxony region” to start the project on 01.05.2026

The place is limited until the end of the project on 30.04.2028. Regular weekly working time is 25.87 hours (part time, 65%). The grouping takes place in the remuneration group 13 TV-L. The TIB is a foundation of public law of the Land of Lower Saxony. With around 600 employees and an budget of around 50 million euros, it is one of the largest information infrastructure facilities in Germany.

The research project “Nds-WiDax - Interactive data exchange between research data repository using knowledge graphs in the Lower Saxony region” funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK) aims to link data from Lower Saxony research data repository by means of a knowledge graph for researchers. This significantly increases the visibility of research data from the science site of Lower Saxony. As a scientific data steward (m/w/d), you are particularly responsible for the selection and quality assurance of (meta) data collections in the new Nds-WiDaX knowledge graphs. In close coordination with the development team, you will be able to analyze and select research data already published with a scientific-technical focus, according to the FAIR data criteria, in order to transfer these data to the scientific data base, the Leibniz Data Manager of TIB, for the construction of the science graph by means of automated interfaces. In addition, secure the mapping of imported metadata to a DCAT-based metadata scheme and check the indexing of metadata using relevant terminologies and ontologies from the TIB terminology service. After data has been imported and mapping, you will ensure the quality of the imported datasets with a focus on consistency, professional assignment, functionality of the links to the data base in the repository, as well as reusability for researchers from the field of technology and natural sciences (the focus areas of TIB). This is done in close cooperation with the specialist consultants:innen der TIB and the corresponding specialist information services (including FID move, FID Chemie and FID Physik). Your activity includes Selection and quality assurance of (meta) data collections in the new Nds-WiDaX knowledge graphs Visualization and analysis of published research data from the fields of technology and natural sciences according to the FAIR data principles and including available terminologies and ontologies in the TIB terminology service Working on the technical structure of a networked knowledge graph and its data base Close cooperation with the TIB Leibniz Data Manager as a technical and content basis Project cooperation, in particular internal and external representation of project results in the context of regular meetings and scientific conferences

completed academic studies (master or equivalent) in a relevant information or technical-natur science course (e.g. information management, data science) or in a related field Very good knowledge of research data management including metadata, FAIR principles and data analysis in research data repository Very good communication and presentation skills Independent, targeted operation Very good team and cooperation capability Very good language skills in German and English in word and writing Ready for business trips Required qualifications Knowledge about the construction of knowledge graphs Knowledge and experience in metadata standards (e.g. DCAT) for research data Knowledge in the field of semantics, especially in the use of terminologies and ontologies for scientific data annotation Experience in building CKAN-based research data repository
