Number: MER00047EW In the inverter technology series development department (RD/ETE), we are responsible for the electric motors and the power electronics of the electric drivetrain in Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The team of pre-development examines and evaluates new and innovative technologies for the next generation of vehicles. The focus here is in particular on the interaction and the overall system of electric motor and power electronics. As part of the promotion, a Deadbeat Flux Control (DBFC) with integrated flow sensor array for electric drives is developed and investigated. The focus is on the comparison between direct flow detection and observer-based approaches and the evaluation of the potentials with regard to control dynamics, in particular with regard to interference transmission behavior, current overshoots and NVH. The work includes the development and optimization of DBFC control methods and flow observers, in particular for overmodulation and Six-Step and OPP operation (optimized pulse patterns). A further focus is on the development of a predictive overcurrent control, in order to specifically reduce current overshoots, in particular in dynamic operating states and in control-engaging interference. The control performance is systematically analyzed with respect to current overshoots, dynamics and NVH behavior and compared with or without integrated flow sensor systems. The developed methods are first examined simulatively in MATLAB/Simulink and then implemented as real-time-capable software functions and are experimentally validated at the drive test stand. Focus of the doctorate: DBFC with and without integrated flow sensor system especially for Six-Step and OPP operation Development and evaluation of river observers Predictive overcurrent control for Six-Step and OPP Systematic analysis and optimization of the control robotity as well as the interference transmission behavior with respect to parameter deviations, measurement errors and external disturbance variables Analysis and evaluation of further potential for improvement, e.g. NVH Simulation and functional development in MATLAB/Simulink Software implementation and experimental validation Integration into an ÖG research project and support for student work Scientific publications and the identification and registration of patents The activity can start from 01.01.2027. Adjustment requirement is the support of the doctoral project by a university lecturer. The selection of a corresponding person is the responsibility of the doctoral student.
