As a material developer, you are responsible for the development and optimization of plastic recipes with focus on polyethylene (HDPE) taking into account post-consumer cycles (PCR). This includes: Advising material selection for new pallet and box designs Improving material compounds for new developments or product groups by e.g. optimizing flowability or nucleation Research into additives to improve the miscibility (coupling reagents) and to adjust specific properties (e.g. flame retardancy, increase notched impact strength, etc.) Conversion of new developments into industrial compounding for own production process injecting large components and their fault analysis Definition of test criteria and analysis of material properties in close cooperation with quality assurance Technical coordination with development and sales in the context of new product and customer projects, from concept phase to implementation
Complete studies in the field of chemistry, chemical engineering, plastics technology or mechanical engineering with a focus on plastics technology (focus on polymers – thermoplastics) Professional knowledge in the field of blendability of plastics and adjustment and optimization of specific properties by additives (e.g. mechanical & structural parameters, long-term stability & stability, processing/functional special parameters Experience in the analysis and interpretation of material characteristics Safe handling of technical documentation and relevant standards Basic knowledge in the field of injection moulding, compounding (double screw extrusion) desirable Extensive ideas, independent and reliable working methods Very good knowledge of German and English as well as readiness for customer projects, supplier visits and international votes complete your profile
