Embedded Software Engineer Image Processing (m/f/d)

Your tasks include the development and optimization of image processing and object recognition algorithms for embedded systems. You develop the software of our commercial dishwashers in C and C++ for applications on microprocessor platforms. You optimize the performance taking into account memory and computational restrictions. You perform profiling and debugging directly on embedded hardware. The generation of synthetic training data for object recognition models, for example by simulation, rendering or augmentation, belongs to your field of activity. In addition, you integrate the developed algorithms into existing software architectures. To achieve a holistic system optimization, work closely with your software development team as well as the hardware department. To ensure clear and structured communication, create technical documentation and specifications.

A completed study in the field of electrical engineering, computer science, communications technology or a comparable field forms the basis of your qualification. You bring relevant professional experience in embedded programming (C/C++, ARM architectures, real-time operating systems). You have practical knowledge in optimization techniques for resource-restricted systems (e.g. fixed-point arithmetic, SIMD, multi-threading), as well as experience in creating synthetic training data (e.g. with modeling tools from robotics). Your knowledge of machine learning approaches for object recognition, even without dedicated hardware acceleration, is a profit for us. In addition, you have experience in version management (Git) and are happy to work with agile methods. Your profile is rounded off by good German and good English skills.
