Development, operation and optimization of Microsoft SQL Server database solutions in cooperation with the DevOps team. Conception and implementation of performant database structures, store procedures, views and scripts. Advising the development teams on database design, technology and operation. Ensuring the stable operation of the database and platform infrastructure including Patch, capacity and lifecycle management. Analysis and optimization of database queries and models in terms of performance and availability. Support in the operation of containerized applications on Kubernetes and the construction of Observability (Monitoring, Alerting, Logging). Close cooperation with development and IT teams at deployments, releases and troubleshooting. Working in projects and promoting automation (e.g. CI/CD, deployment standards and database migration). Monitoring of schema changes and deployments with suitable migration and version concepts (e.g. Liquibase).
Completed IT training or studies in computer science or a comparable qualification. Very good knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), especially in database design, SQL development and performance tuning. Experience in operating productive database environments and solid understanding of system and platform operation (Linux/Windows, Server, Storage, Interfaces). Knowledge of container technologies and OpenShift as well as interest in interaction with containerized applications. Experience with automation and modern operating approaches (e.g. CI/CD, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code or Scripting). Ideally experience with tools such as Liquibase, ArgoCD, Tekton, Artifactory, MinIO or Keycloak. Experience with monitoring and logging tools as well as understanding of observability and stable operation. Structured, service-oriented working methods, team skills as well as very good German and good English skills.
