Do you want to actively shape the economic management of demanding construction and real estate projects at ZEISS and create sound cost transparency across projects, programs and locations? We are looking for Senior Cost Manager (m/w/x) in Real Estate Management. In this role, you are a key specialist in building costs, cost characteristics, benchmarking and budget and forecasting topics. You create resilient decision-making bases, increase cost transparency and help to manage investments and resources in national and international real-state projects economically and forward-looking. This enables you to actively participate in the professionalization of cost management in the global real estate environment of ZEISS.

Your role You assume the technical responsibility for the Real Estate Cost Management: you develop, maintain and use cost parameters, create cost frameworks for construction and real estate projects and derive from them rugged foundations for budgeting, target cost determination and strategic decisions.

You create transparency on cost developments: You consolidate and analyze project costs, detect deviations and cost drivers early on, create forecasts and scenario analyses and prepare the results for project management, programme managers and other stakeholders in a targeted manner.

You further develop benchmarking, key payment systems and digital evaluation approaches: You build a resilient data base for construction and operating costs, use historical project data, market information and cost analysis and continuously transfer relevant findings into a professional, data-based key payment system.

You advise on complex cost, budget and fee topics: You evaluate offers and cost developments, support contract and budget issues, show options for action and escalate cost slates or relevant cost risks independently and solution-oriented.

You contribute to the budget and forecast planning: You demand cost developments from projects and operations, check and consolidate financial information, work out deviations and support the financial planning, risk assessment and economic governance of the Real Estate area.

You act as an interdisciplinary interface: You work closely with project and program management, location managers, controlling as well as internal disciplines, promote a common understanding of cost management, benchmarking and data-based project management and drive the use of digital and AI-based approaches in cost management.

You have a successfully completed degree in business management, financial management, architecture, engineering, real estate, or a comparable qualification with a business or financial focus.

You bring several years of relevant professional experience in cost management, cost control, financial planning or real estate cost management – ideally in the context of construction, real estate or infrastructure projects.

You have a well-founded knowledge of cost determination, budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis and risk assessment as well as a good understanding of project phases and processes in complex projects.

You work analytically, structured and data-orientated and can make complex cost information comprehensible and make clear recommendations for different stakeholders.

You have the pleasure of further developing key payment systems, data quality and digital working methods and bring a high affinity to digitalization, AI, automation as well as reporting, monitoring and office tools.

You convince by safe occurrence, communication and enforcement, as well as the ability to combine different interests in a solution-oriented manner.

You work independently, pragmatically and team-oriented and bring a high motivation to actively develop the economic management of real-state projects.

You have very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing.
