Expert in Functional Safety & Machine Safety (m/f/d)

You are responsible for the care and continuous development of the management of functional safety. As a central specialist contact person, you will advise project teams, operational engineers, operating personnel and maintenance on functional safety and machine safety. Through the planning and implementation of training and instruction, you will ensure the placement of relevant standards, rules and internal standards. As part of your activity, you evaluate and deploy safety-relevant measurement, control and control devices according to BetrSichV and TRBS, in particular according to TRBS 1115/1115‐1 and TRGS 725. In addition, you take over the design of safety functions according to IEC 61511 / IEC 61508 (SIL), VDI/VDE 2180 and the evaluation of safety-related controls according to DIN EN ISO 13849‐1 (PL). In the case of safety considerations, risk assessments according to DIN EN ISO 12100 as well as cyber security assessments, you conduct them, moderate them or work with them professionally. In addition, you will advise on the implementation of technical safety measures, test concepts (assessments) and documentation according to the Boehringer Ingelheim management of functional safety. In addition, you support the CE conformity according to the machine regulation (EU) 2023/1230 and introduce your expertise as a specialist examiner* in the internal pressure device testing point in the area of functional safety.

Completed studies (electrotechnics, automation/leading technology, mechanical engineering) or comparable field of study with many years of professional experience in functional safety or machine safety in the process industry. Very good knowledge of relevant standards and legal bases (BetrSichV, TRBS 1115, IEC 61511 / IEC 61508 / VDI-VDE 2180, DIN EN ISO 13849‐1, DIN EN ISO 12100, Machine Regulation (EU) 2023/1230). Additional training or certificate in Functional Safety Engineer (e.g. TÜV) Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity requirements for security-relevant PLT facilities (e.g. IEC 62443, TRBS 1115-1) Experience in project management / in the management of projects Strong communication skills, team commitment and commitment to new tasks and further development Flowing German and English skills In the course of payment transparency, the payment provided is divided during the recruitment process.
