Jobrotation The material research and testing facility at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (MFPA) is an out-of-university research facility with accredited calibration and testing laboratories as well as accredited certification and inspection centre. It has an AZAV certification as an educational institution. Approximately 130 employees are mainly involved in application-oriented research projects, material and component testing, calibrations, inspections and certifications as well as educational projects. The MFPA is part of the Department of Education, Science and Culture. To promote research activities in the Life Cycle Material Engineering, the Free State of Thuringia supports the MFPA by means of specially established research groups.
