Design Manager (m/f/d)

Leadership & Team Development: Professional and disciplinary leadership of employees in mechanical design – including coaching, skills development and promotion of an open, performance-oriented team culture Mechanical design: Responsibility for the constructive support and further development of complex machines and technical systems

Product development: Designing and developing existing solutions and developing new technical concepts based on future requirements

Engineering & problem solution: Responsibility for demanding technical and mechanical questions and development of constructive, manufacturing and economically convincing solutions

Construction Methods: Further development of modern engineering and construction methods – in particular in the fields of CAD design, stress assessment and simulation

Processes & Transformation: Active development of organisation, processes and structures within the responsibility area as well as support of technical and organizational change projects

Interface management: Close cooperation with adjacent technical areas and production to ensure efficient and practical development

Strategic co-design: Active cooperation in the extended management circle and co-design and implementation of the technical and organizational orientation of the engineering sector

Qualification: Successful degree in mechanical engineering or comparable technical qualification

Professional experience: Multiannual experience in the design and development of complex machinery and equipment – ideally from special machinery or plant engineering

Leadership Experience: Experience gained in the professional and disciplinary leadership of technical staff and the joy of developing teams and actively shaping changes

CAD knowledge: Very good knowledge of mechanical construction, ideally with Autodesk Inventor and Vault

Manufacturing competency: Funded understanding of manufacturing technologies, materials and the production-oriented design of technical solutions

Technical understanding: Good knowledge of strength calculation, material science and methodological development of mechanical systems

Additional qualification: Ideally additional qualification as a welding specialist – alternative willingness to acquire this qualification

Personality: High-communication and sovereign leadership with strategic thinking, high readiness for change and the ability to win employees for new technologies and working methods

Working methods: Structured, precise and result-oriented with high quality standards, self-initiative and a holistic view of technical and economic requirements

Languages: Safe English in Word and Written for Cooperation in an International Technical Environment

Responsible leadership: central role with technical and disciplinary responsibility for mechanical construction
