The training usually takes two years and concludes with the degree as a civil engineering specialist:in. It is possible to extend the training with the third year as a road builder. This means that after three years you have two degrees in your pocket! The vocational school is located in Leipzig and the training centre in Gera. During your training you will learn the basics of road construction that are necessary for the new building and the expansion of different infrastructure projects. You acquire skills in handling different tools and construction equipment (e.g. compressed air hammer, shaker plates or surveying devices). You're talking about earthwork using construction machines and securing construction pits or trenches. You will learn the correct use and processing of building materials (e.g. asphalt, concrete, wood, steel etc.) as well as the reading of construction plans and drawings. You will be familiar with the most important safety regulations and workflows on our major construction sites. In the second year of teaching, you can purchase a small machine license for the operation of our construction equipment free of charge.

You have craftsmanship, interest in technical topics and have a good spatial imagination. You have a good primary school degree or a real school degree and ideally belonged to your favorite subjects. You are interested in the construction industry and enjoy the practical and physical work outdoors. The team's work is fun and you like to pack up.
