Number: MER0003WI0 In the development of the entire vehicle, digital development is becoming increasingly important. This involves increasing complexity in handling data. As part of your work as a working student*in or during your practice semester, our team supports you in the Thermomanagement department in the concept development for efficient exchange of data. Your main tasks include the following steps that are necessary to achieve the objective of data exchange between teams:

1. Data analysis and structure: Data extraction: extraction of calculation results from various tools

Data purification: cleaning and preprocessing of extracted data to ensure data quality

Data modelling: structuring of data by creating suitable data models

2. Development of storage concepts: Requirements analysis: Analysis of the requirements for the database with respect to history, scalability and operating system compatibility (LINUX and Windows)

Database selection: Investigation and evaluation of suitable database types (e.g. relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, InfluxDB)

Database design: design and implementation of a database scheme based on the determined requirements

3. Data pipeline and automation: ETL Process: Development and Implementation of an ETL Process (Extract, Transform, Load) to Automation of Data Transfer

Script development: creation of scripts for automation of recurring tasks (e.g. with Python, Bash)

Data integration

The activity can begin from February 2026.

Study of Computer Science, Business Informatics or a comparable course

Knowledge of database technologies and concepts

Experiences with data analysis tools and methods

Interest in automation and data pipelines

Secure knowledge of German and English in word and writing

Safe handling of MS Office

Commitment and team skills

Analytical thinking and strategic working
