Head of Department New Work – Architect or Civil Engineer (m/f/d)

As head of the Workspace Consulting department, you will build an interdisciplinary team of experts and develop the New Work theme as well as the orientation of the new working worlds in the BImA strategically, structurally and forward-looking. As the first contact person at the management level, you will ensure the success of the project in cooperation with the Executive Board and the Management Board and represent the BImA independently in discussions with high-level clients, for example the Supreme Federal authorities. With your experience and know-how, you will lead, control and develop an expert team from the fields of architecture and interior design, change management and communication, creating modern working environments for your own use within the BImA as well as for our customers. This allows you to design future-oriented and attractive office concepts for the entire federal administration. In order to optimally support our users in the establishment of modern workplace solutions, you develop comprehensive strategies, sustainable structures and a scalable consulting process. You are responsible for the implementation and support with a successful change management. You define the conceptual framework for future-oriented, customer-focused workplace concepts, taking into account the requirements for surface and functional optimization. Also on site, you will bring your expertise at a strategic and advisory level and actively support our customers in the design of new working worlds – you will travel to the respective locations in the entire federal territory several times a month. We work mobile and flexible and provide the appropriate equipment. In the service journeys described, we pay attention to sufficient time advance, so that the reconciliation of family, leisure and profession is guaranteed.

Qualification: You have completed academic studies (Diplom [Uni]/ Master) in the fields of architecture, interior design, civil engineering or economic engineering, or a comparable qualification. Competences: You have several years of professional experience in the development of innovative office design concepts and workplace consulting. In addition to extensive knowledge and experience in project management, you will also bring expertise in change management. You can already present several years of leadership experience. You can also provide expertise and practical experience in real estate management. Other: Your deep understanding of topics such as New Work, Design and Interior Design helps you to master the challenges of project implementation. You show technical understanding of communication technologies, project management, area and functional concepts. In order to work effectively with employees, executives, users and external partners, you will bring significant, addressable communication skills. You act objectively, economically and show their own initiative. Your expertise in change processes and your personal leadership qualities are just as good as your safe judgment, combined with the ability to decide quickly and objectively and take responsibility even in complex situations. You guide and control the team by convincing through social competence and team orientation. You complete your profile with the ability to identify, promote and develop potentials of your staff and to implement the objectives of the Federal Equality Act.
