The Fraunhofer Society is one of the world's leading organisations for application-oriented research. 75 institutes develop groundbreaking technologies for our economy and society – more precisely: 32 000 people from technology, science, administration and IT. You know, who comes to Fraunhofer wants and can change something. For yourself, for us and the markets of today and tomorrow. The subsidiary Dresden of the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Applied Materials Research IFAM with currently approx. 120 employees specialize in basic and application research for solution-oriented material and technology development for innovative sinter and composite materials, functional materials and cellular metallic materials for energy technology, mobility and medical technology. Hydrogen technology plays an important role in energy technology. Are you with me soon? ?

Your tasks • Your profile • What we offer

Your curiosity leads you to the hydrogen technology department. Here you will work on practical research projects around the energy carrier hydrogen. Among other things, it is about hydrogen production by “POWERPASTE”, the chemical storage of hydrogen in hydrides, the gas separation by sorption processes and the compression of the gas by waste heat. The projects are publicly funded or directly commissioned by the industry. In close coordination with the project management, you build prototypes in the field of hydrogen technology. Read flow charts, mount pipelines and components for up to 350 bar and perform electrotechnical and mechatronic work until the production and testing of the operation. You work in chemical laboratories, produce materials, prepare samples and carry out analyses. The materials you produce are regularly tested in the prototypes. You perform test series independently, capture measurement data, evaluate them, judge and document the results. As part of your work, you expand your knowledge of system technology and introduce your own solutions for technical implementation.

Completed training for the state-tested technician*in (mechatronics, chemical engineering or physics) Funded knowledge of mechatronics as well as the ability to introduce them creatively and solution-oriented in demonstrators and custom productions to be produced Wide technical understanding of chemical processes, fluid systems and systemic hardware components, for example for controlling pressure and flow, as well as in valve and pipeline technology Experience in the chemical laboratory, in sample preparation under inert atmosphere and in analysis Basic knowledge of software for creating flow charts such as CAD and ideally LabVIEW; experience with AI-based research and assistance tools for processing technical questions is of advantage Very good German and basic English skills

Top research in a wide variety of groundbreaking lighthouse projects, the society and the economy – and you yourself – continue. Up-to-date equipment Targeted training and development of your professional and personal strengths through the Fraunhofer education program Occupational pensions, asset-effective benefits and wage conversion Grant to the Deutschland-Ticket Jobticket Family-friendly working culture with flexible working conditions for the reconciliation of leisure, family and work
