Senior Requirement Engineer (m/f/d)

As a Senior Requirement Engineer (d/m/w), you design the interface between our specialist areas (reaction, product, business operations) and the engineering team. You are responsible for clearly defining, prioritizing and implementing requirements. So you make sure that we deliver efficient, targeted and with high quality solutions that are really needed. You understand both the later users of the solutions and the employees working with them as your customers – and you are entitled to create added value and continuous improvement for both sides. With a clear look at excellence and economics, you will ensure that our developments are implemented qualitatively and at the same time resource-saving. You work closely with stakeholders such as editorial staff, product management, marketing and sales, meet needs, shapely use cases and structure requirements. Requirement documents, User Stories, Epics and features, including clear acceptance criteria, create precise and comprehensible. When prioritizing the requirements, you will keep an eye on business value, feasibility and available resources. In cooperation with UX/UI, Data Science and Engineering, you ensure that usability, performance, data protection and scalability are taken into account in the implementation. The work results of external service providers are critical, giving constructive feedback and driving forward the continuous improvement of our partner services. Efficiency and cost-effectiveness are just as important to you as excellence and innovative power – and you take responsibility for that. You continuously validate requirements through reviews, tests and user feedback and thus ensure sustainable quality. You actively participate in the establishment and further development of process standards for Requirement Engineering and promote best practices as well as the use of modern tools such as Confluence, Jira, Miro or Requirements Management systems. You will keep risks in mind: uncertainties, assumptions and dependencies, you identify early and develop appropriate measures for minimization.

A completed study in Computer Science, Media Informatics, Business Informatics, Engineering or a comparable qualification. Multiannual experience as a requirement engineer, business analyst or in a similar role – ideally in the media environment or with digital products. Analytical strength and the ability to prepare complex facts in a comprehensible and structured manner. Safe handling of agile methods such as Scrum or Kanban as well as a good understanding of software architecture, data models and interfaces. Experience in handling tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, Requirements Management Tools or comparable systems. Communication strength – you achieve technical and non-technical stakeholders alike and can inspire them for your topics. Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing as well as willingness to be regularly (about 2–3 days per week) on site in Hannover.
