Trainee as a consultant for trade union legal advice

The work as a lecturer for trade union legal advice is challenging and diverse. Therefore, we offer you a good mix of theoretical training, practical training and collegial support in an 18-month trainee program. So you are optimally prepared for your later tasks.

As of 01.10.26, we occupy five trainees with a focus on trade union legal advice.

All trainees are posted full-time and paid in accordance with the internal pay system (EC 6.2).

After a 12-month entry and basic phase, each trainee will be prepared for one of three specializations in a further 6 months, which will be accompanied by different tasks following completion of the trainee program: Trade union secretaries in industry-related business and collective labour Trade union secretary in cross-industry youth work Trade union secretary in legal consulting and representation

We are looking for all-rounders with political and operational design will!

You should bring: Interest in trade union policy issues and identification with the aims of ver.di A completed vocational training, a completed study or a comparable multiannual professional experience Political or trade union engagement, through which you have acquired the following experiences and competencies: Understanding basic legal, political and economic relationships First methodological skills in working with groups Communication skills Organisational skills and good self-management Interest in strategic thinking Cooperation capability & problem-solving competence excellent knowledge of German and good knowledge of English driving licence class B to provide knowledge of labour, co-determination and collective bargaining. A corresponding university degree (e.g. Jura) is not a prerequisite! You can also demonstrate your knowledge through professional experience or volunteer activities (e.g. corporate representation of interests, collective committee etc.).

In our trainee program we occupy both fixedly planned and flexible positions.

In the case of fixed positions, the place of use is already established after the completion of the trainee program. The practical phase of incorporation will take place mainly in the region of the site mentioned. In the case of flexibly planned positions, the later site of use is only specified in the course of the trainee program. At the beginning, the district is in any case fixed. Here too, the incorporation phases take place predominantly within the region.

We are occupying 5 trainees at 01.10.2026 with a focus on legal consultancy and representation at the following locations Ulm-Oberschwaben district at Ulm (fest) Ulm-Oberschwaben district at Ravensburg (fest) Heilbronnn-Neckar-Franken am Standort Heilbronn (fest) Landesbezirk Niedersachsen-Bremen – during the trainee program in the district of Hannover-Heide-Weser at the Hannover (flexible) District Rhineland-Palatinate-Saarland – during the Trainee Programme District of Mittelrhein (flexible) After successful completion of the trainee program, we guarantee the takeover into an indefinite working relationship (ver.di pay level 7.1).
