Software Developer Automation Technology/PLC & Edge (m/f/d)

As a software developer (d/m/w) in our innovation team, you shape the future of our exhaust gas cleaning systems. You connect classic PLC automation with modern digital technologies, edge computing, sensor technology intelligence and Industry 4.0 functions. Your goal: more efficient systems, better environmental balance and smart, data-driven functions. You develop and test software and modeling concepts that improve the CO2 balance, PFC emissions and the operating costs of our systems. You determine which data, signals and logics are required in SPS and Edge software. You connect sensors - including connection to the SPS. You define and tune the required PLC signals and logical changes together with the PLC team. You specify and test edge computing modules and I4.0 interfaces in laboratory and pilot plants. You unfold data flows from PLCs and sensors to databases, analysis platforms and dashboards. You plan and accompany experiments with gas and process sensors. You describe use cases and acceptance criteria and define relevant KPI and reporting requirements. You act as the main contact partner (d/m/w) for our software development, the innovation team and our global subsidiaries by combining requirements, prioritizing and communicating results.

As a software developer (d/m/w), you have the following skills and experiences: Complete studies in the field of computer science, automation technology, electrical engineering or a comparable qualification Professional experience with PLC and HMI environments or strong technical understanding of automation environments Very good knowledge of C#, JavaScript or Python Experience with industrial communication standards such as OPC UA, MQTT, REST Experience with the integration of sensor technology, as well as data models and edge computing architectures Analytical, independent and solution-oriented mode of operation Teamability and clear communication, also across interfaces Wide technical interest and joy of working in new technologies Good knowledge of German and English in word and writing (at least B2-Nivau)
