Your role You lead an interdisciplinary engineering team that develops automation solutions for measuring applications and converts them into customer projects. You report directly to the Business Unit Manager for Solutions and work closely with the product and business units, including X-Ray, industrial microscopes, mCMM (Coordinate Measurement Machines). You design the further development of our solution portfolio and ensure that our customers receive robust, scalable and industrial-grade automation solutions. You lead an interdisciplinary R&D team (mechanics, electrics/PLC, software) – with clear responsibility for orientation, cooperation and technical results.

You work closely with product management, sales, production and service, translate customer requirements into resilient technical concepts, prioritise the project portfolio, answer budget and resources, and make-or-buy and architectural decisions.

You are responsible for overall development and customer projects over the entire life cycle: from demand analysis to the design of modular automation solutions to commissioning of the systems to the customer.

You design and evaluate automation and integration solutions for demanding measurement applications and ensure that these are implemented in a standard-compliant, safe, robust and maintenance-friendly manner.

You develop the engineering organization, create clear roles, processes and interfaces, and use methods such as model-based systems engineering, simulation and virtual commissioning to increase development quality and speed.

You define and establish standardized construction boxes, reference architectures and interfaces, so that solutions can be efficiently reused and transferred to new applications.

You have multi-year leadership experience in interdisciplinary engineering (mechanics, electrical/PLC, software) in special machine or plant engineering and control budget, resources and portfolio priorities securely.

You bring well-founded know-how in automation technology and system integration, ideally in the context of measurable applications, and are familiar with modular architectures, standardization and industrial communication standards.

You take customer requirements structured, translate them into marketable technical solutions and work closely with product management, sales, production and service.

You lead as a coach and enabler, build key competencies in the team, establish effective review and knowledge exchange formats, manage stakeholders safely and represent technical and economic decisions clearly at management level.
