Team Leader Maintenance

Key job responsibilities

• Best practice and support in operating devices and systems with the highest safety standards
• Tracking of equipment performance by visual testing, maintenance-oriented monitoring and preventive maintenance and planning of additional maintenance as required
• Responsibility for the technical team during its shift and its support and further development
• Solution of systems problems to reduce operating downtime and enable the fastest possible handling of packages
• Support in the continuous improvement of systems and standardisation of processes across the EU network

A day in the life You enter a maintenance team within a layer and make sure that all employees have the necessary tools available and work properly. This involves monitoring processes so that regulations and guidelines are followed, as well as ensuring the implementation of preventive maintenance measures to maximize the operating time of our plants. Through your observations during shiftwork, you make suggestions for improvement to make our systems even more efficient and productive and implement these improvements across the EU. In addition, you use tools such as SCADA to monitor processes to ensure their performance, and support administrative tasks in close cooperation with your executives. You work locally in one of our logistics centers. You work in shift models that can include nights and weekends. With the knowledge and experience you collect, you will develop into further leadership positions.

Basic qualifications

• Complete technical vocational training recognised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) or Chamber of Commerce (HWK) or proof of a successfully completed university degree in the field of engineering (engineering / electrical engineering or art related) of a German university or recognized foreign university degrees (BA, B. Sc., MA, M. Sc., Dipl.-Ing.)
• In addition, a completed qualification as industrial master, craftsman or state-certified technician or multi-year relevant professional experience
• Practical experience in leading teams
• Experience in the automation and maintenance of conveyor systems
• Advanced German language skills in word and writing and basic language skills in English Preferred qualifications
• Experience in the care of foreign companies
• Understanding PLC-based control systems and legal compliance requirements
• Experience in the use of computer-controlled maintenance management systems to plan and record proactive maintenance measures
• Degree of study, preferably in a technical field or in business

About the team The logistics department at Amazon (AMZL) is responsible for the “Last-Mile logistics” – i.e. the delivery of our packages in partnership with third parties. We think creatively and implement initiatives for continuous improvement to deliver millions of physical products to our customers. Our goal is to make the delivery experience for our customers as smooth as possible and to introduce global delivery solutions for our latest offers, including Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and Amazon restaurants. These activities are carried out by two groups of employees. Our “internal” employees prepare millions of products for shipping to our delivery teams. Our team is human-oriented and helpful. This is particularly important because many of our employees work in night shifts. Our focus is mainly on operating. Most of our locations work around the clock. During the course, our “outside service” employees work with Amazon Flex – a contractor network for delivery. Every year we set new standards in terms of customer experience and offer new, innovative delivery services. We are looking for new ways to overcome industry-wide logistics challenges, as well as new ideas to reduce our carbon footprint. We support a fleet of innovative vehicles (including e-vehicles) and state-of-the-art technology. .
