Number: MER000491V Mercedes-Benz AG is one of the leading companies in the automotive industry and is continuously working on technological innovations. At the Sindelfingen site, our “Future Digital Engineering” department deals with the development and optimization of structural components using advanced calculation and simulation methods. In our international team you work at the interface of research, development and innovation. Together we develop lightweight design concepts and efficient structural solutions to further improve the performance of future series vehicles. Our work focuses on the application of the finite element method for detailed structural analyses. We carry out linear and nonlinear simulations and investigate different load scenarios, from static load cases to complex dynamic events. After the internship there is the possibility to scientifically deepen your gained experience as part of a Bachelor's or Master's thesis. This allows you to combine your theoretical knowledge with practical applications and gain further insights into the interdisciplinary functioning of automotive development. These activities come to you: incorporation into existing finite element models and their modification to improve model quality Development of scripts for evaluating finite element calculations with Python or MATLAB Participation in performing and evaluating quasi-static and dynamic finite element calculations Support in optimizing structural components Integration of advanced manufacturing edge conditions in optimization calculations for the realistic simulation of components Insights into adjacent fields and participation in interdisciplinary projects The activity can begin from April 2027. We offer you: Practical insights: You will get to know current developments in the field of vehicle technology and will participate in real projects for shaping future mobility Innovative working environment: You work in an international team that promotes innovation, cooperation and continuous development Modern technologies: You get access to current simulation methods, technologies and development tools Possibility of final work: You have the opportunity to scientifically deepen a subject started in the internship as part of a Bachelor's or Master's thesis Supporting cooperation: A diverse and value-adding working environment awaits you, which promotes professional exchange and creative solutions
