End-to-end development of flight controllers for different UAV platforms (from concept to simulation, prototypical implementation, autopilot integration to flight testing) Design, modelling and optimization of control and navigation algorithms Create mathematical models for flight mechanics, system dynamics and aerodynamic effects Implementation of simulations in MATLAB/Simulink or comparable tools for evaluating control law Specification, preparation and performance of flight control tests (SIL, HIL, Ground Tests and Flight Tests) Analysis, documentation and continuous improvement of control performance based on real flight data Close cooperation with Aerodynamics, Flight Mechanics, Embedded Hard- & Software and Test & Integration Participation in the development and optimization of the autopilot stack Research and Re-Implementation of Current Scientific Approaches to Modern Flight Control Methods

Completed studies (M.Sc. or PhD) in aerospace technology, mechanical engineering, robotics, electrical engineering or a comparable degree course Very good knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink and safe handling of simulation-based system design Knowledge of aerodynamics, flight control, system modelling and flight mechanics Experience in implementing control algorithms in real-time autopilot software Good software engineering skills, especially in MATLAB and in languages such as Python, C++, Rust Ability to communicate complex technical relationships clearly and addressably – internally and externally Analytical thinking, structured working and high quality awareness Passion for current research trends in the field of UAV control, autonomous systems and modern control law
