Junior Project Engineer Vulnerability (m/f/d)
Оccupation: Project engineer
Description of body
The "vulnerability and effect" department assesses the effects of weapons deployments on intended targets and minimises unwanted accompanying damage to its own forces and to unparticipated persons. On behalf of the Ministry of Defence, we develop and operate the universal vulnerability model UniVeMo, which simulates the interactions of weapon effects with target structures and the resulting functional consequences.
Our work includes modeling the structure and function of ammunition as well as land, air and sea targets. A central part of our activity is the monitoring of experiments – both externally and on our own experimental plants. The implementation and evaluation of extensive, complex simulations on the impact of weapons enable informed decisions for our customers.
Our goal is to create precise and valuable analyses and studies within the specified time and cost framework. Due to the consistently high quality of our models, methods and results, we ensure the acceptance and trust of our customers.
The continuous improvement of our tools and processes in terms of quality and efficiency contributes significantly to the economic success of the department.

- Analysis of experimental and simulation results and programming of our mathematical-physical models
- Take over demanding and versatile tasks in all areas of vulnerability analysis
- Planning, monitoring, evaluation and documentation of experiments as well as experimental simulation
- cooperation in national and international projects or IABG teams to analyze and evaluate system vulnerability and weapon action, after thorough incorporation
- Documentation of work results in reports and presentations before stakeholders and customers

- Secure knowledge in CAD, FEM, CFD or FMECA as well as initial experience with experimental studies and derivation of theoretical models
- knowledge in the field of defence, e.g. through a corresponding deepening in studies, service at the Bundeswehr or experience in the relevant industry, would be ideal
- Safe, positive appearance, good communication skills and ideally first experience in international cooperation
- Very good German knowledge and good English knowledge in word and writing
