The Evangelical Hospital Alsterdorf belongs to the medical societies of the Evangelical Foundation Alsterdorf. It is an academic teaching hospital of the University Hospital of Hamburg-Eppendorf and has a special assignment for the medical and nursing care of people with disabilities. The Evangelical Hospital Alsterdorf currently has 327 fully-stationary and 91 substationary beds. Station 10 is a psychiatric station with 15 beds for patients with and without assistance requirements – 10 beds are in the open and 5 beds in the protected area (§ 1831 BGB and §12 HmbPsychKG). Since challenging care situations are part of everyday work, the work on this station requires emotional stability, physical loadability and a high degree of empathy.

Overview of tasks

• Nursing treatment of psychiatric patients with and without assistance needs
• Psychiatric patient observation and conduct crisis talks
• Communication at different levels with patients, relatives and legal supervisors
• Participation in service and case meetings and commissions

We are looking

• A completed training for the health and nursing staff*in, nursing staff or a university degree in the dual Bachelor's programme Care
• Or a successfully completed vocational training for the curative nurse*in
• Professional experience / expertise in the treatment of mental illnesses
• Communication capability, flexibility, reliability, safe and independent work, pleasure in interdisciplinary work in the team
• Psychic resilience and understanding and empathy to patients with disabilities and mental illnesses as well as their belonging in an acute situation
• Remarkable would be experiences in closed psychiatry
