The Department of Health, as a local public health service authority, sees itself as a service provider and contact person for the citizens of the city of Halle (Saale) with the aim of protecting and promoting the health of the population by implementing health-promoting measures. The spectrum of tasks is diverse and is decisively prescribed by the legal order.

To assist you, the Department of Health, Veterinary Affairs and Food Monitoring is looking to accept responsibility as well as the needs and questions related to health at the next possible time.

Your tasks:

They undertake tasks in animal welfare monitoring and other control activities, including:

• Monitoring of riding and driving operations
• implementation of animal welfare controls in the field of livestock farming
• Exportate testing

They shall take over the organisation, coordination and implementation of tasks under the Animal Health Act and the legislation adopted thereto, including:

• Stock checks in all livestock holdings
• Attestations in international animal and travel
• implementation of animal health measures
• Control of compliance with the examination regime to maintain the freedom of disease
• Monitoring of updates in specialist applications (e.g. TRACES, TSN, HIT and Balvi iP)

These activities are carried out, inter alia, outside the regular working hours and, if necessary, on weekends and holidays within the framework of the amtstier medical standoff service and, where appropriate, using the private car.

Required:

• a successfully completed study of veterinary medicine and an approbation as a veterinarian (m/w/d) according to § 63 TAppV
• Class B licence

Required:

• experience in veterinary administration (e.g. in the course of work or internships)
• knowledge in the fields of animal welfare, animal health control, animal by-product monitoring and veterinary medicinal products
• Knowledge of the application Balvi iP, TRACES, TSN or HIT
• high personal commitment
• Enforcement
• strong communication and team skills
