We are looking for a Food Contact and Regulatory Affairs Supervisor - EMEA (m/w/d) to support our Packaging Coatings team.

The position is located in Bodelshausen and reports directly to the Food Contact Regulatory Affairs, Packaging Coatings, EMEA.

The Packaging Coatings business unit is an important supplier for the metal packaging industry. Many of the products sold are intended for direct food contact, others for indirect contact with food.

Creation of conformity documentation on food contact for customers and brand owners in the EMEA region. Cooperation with raw material suppliers to ensure the provision of appropriate evidence of conformity for raw materials in food contact. Input of raw material data into the corresponding databases/systems. Coordination of food contact testing activities with external testing institutes, including coordination with technical teams, and verification of draft audit reports. Building and maintaining strategic relationships with raw material suppliers, important customers and regulatory contacts. Representation of PPG in questions of food contact and product safety to external consultants such as law firms, testing institutes, specialist associations, etc. Internal consulting and support of the technical and development teams in the selection of raw materials as well as in product tests for compliance with regulatory requirements.

Bachelor degree in Chemistry with practical knowledge of polymers and analytical methods, e.g. LC/GC chromatography At least 5 years of professional experience in the chemical industry and/or 5 years of experience in food contact coatings or product safety Experience with the regulatory requirements for food contact materials in the EMEA region and strategies to demonstrate compliance Knowledge of regulatory requirements in other regions is advantageous Embossed written communication skills – crucial for the creation of conformity documents and communication along the supply chain and with third parties Leadership competence for small teams, including training, personnel development and staff retention German and English language skills in word and writing
