Research Assistant Digital Engineering AI (m/f/d)

You work in research and industrial projects at the interface of Engineering IT, PLM, ALM, MBSE, Systems Engineering and AI. Reliably analyse existing process and tool landscapes, develop target images and roadmaps for digital continuity and accompany piloting, introductions and further developments in close cooperation with our partner companies. You integrate new AI functions into existing tool landscapes, data flows and engineering processes and evaluate their added value in the real application context. Interdisciplinary, you work with colleagues, industrial partners and contracting authorities, prepare results to address and present them convincingly. Last but not least, you will publish your results in technical contributions, participate in workshops, training and acquisition activities and develop the Advanced Systems Engineering theme.

You have a very well completed university degree in Computer Science, Economic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a comparable technical degree course. To do this, you will have at least first experience in several of the following areas: PLM, ALM, Engineering IT, Systems Engineering, MBSE, Tool Integration, Data Management or Technical Transformation Projects. Ideally, you have already been able to participate in consulting, introductory or further development projects – for example in the context of PLM strategies, engineering processes, tool landscapes, data models, traceability or digital continuity. Ideally, you have practice in at least one established engineering IT or PLM/ALM platform, such as team center, wind chill, 3DEXPERIENCE, polarion, code beamer, DOORS Next, jama or cameo. With the interaction of technical and organizational changes, you are familiar – and you can translate requirements, processes, roles, data and IT structures into a resilient and sustainable target image. You are interested in the use of modern AI technologies in engineering or have first insights into large language models, assistance systems, workflow automation, analytics or intelligent knowledge access. In German (min. C1) and English, you can also communicate technical content to customers, project partners and scientific audiences in a comprehensible, structured and convincing manner.
