In the role of the Global Lead Buyer, you will assume the global responsibility for all strategic tasks and procurement activities within the Carl Zeiss Vision Care, the categories assigned to them. This requires cross-functional and global cooperation with the relevant peers and stakeholders as well as external suppliers.

Building, maintaining and managing supplier relationships to ensure competitive conditions and a stable supply chain

Development and implementation of a sustainable purchasing strategy to optimize the quality, cost structure and availability of production materials

Implementation of comprehensive market analyses to identify potential suppliers and technologies, as well as the redesign and implementation of strategic supplier management

Development and implementation of forecastings for suppliers based on existing S&OP processes

Creation of tenders, implementation of offer comparisons and conduct of price and contract negotiation incl. Preparing appropriate framework agreements for the use of bundling effects supported by secure handling of contract law and correspondence with lawyers

Defining targeted sourcing requirements for production materials and developing KPI-based risk management for the supervised category

Interface coordination between Operational Procurement, Master Data & Operations Planning, Product Management, Technology & Innovation, Logistics, Quality Management, Finance & Controlling

Successfully completed studies in engineering, economics or comparable qualifications

Multiannual experience in strategic or project-specific purchasing

Outstanding negotiating strength, analytical skills, cost and risk management competence

A strong service and awareness to work as a strategic buyer in a high-grade interface organization

Understanding technical requirements, project processes and agile working methods, and knowledge in contract law and in the conduct of negotiations

resilience, initiative and ability to take responsibility in a dynamic and global environment

Flowing English knowledge, German knowledge of advantage
