The “Innovation and New Markets” department includes the promotion of innovation and cross-industry technology transfers (INNOspace© initiative), the development of new markets and commercialisation potentials, the ESA commercialisation programmes (Business Applications, Business Incubation Centres, Technology Broker, Spark Funding), the support of the “Innovation and Transfer Projects” funding line in the Space Programme for Innovation and International Cooperation. The “Innovative Space Based GNSS Applications and NewSpace” programme opens up a variety of design possibilities as a new funding measure and supports the development of innovative, practical applications based on Galileo’s data and services as a global satellite navigation system (GNSS) of the European Commission. The focus is on NewSpace with its pioneering technologies, innovative, digital business models as well as the clear focus on current, concrete needs of users.
