Your mission in the field of driving dynamics cluster HiL: Modern Mercedes-Benz (MB) vehicles are equipped with numerous control units that shape the desired MB driving behavior and safety – including steering systems (e.g. EPS, rear axle steering, steer-by-wire) and braking systems (e.g. ESP). In our control analysis team, you test these interacting control units in a drive dynamic cluster hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) environment to enable digital validation and release tests. Here, real electronic control units (ECUs) are coupled with component-based, high-level real-time multibody simulation models of the vehicle (e.g. SIMPACK), which allows the validation of the system behavior under realistic dynamic conditions. This approach increases system ripening and security while reducing the test time and the cost of physical prototypes considerably. We are looking for a motivated engineer* who performs the release-synchronized digital tests, improves real-time simulation models and contributes to the design and maintenance of driving dynamics cluster hiLs. As vehicle architectures evolve across new platforms, the system complexity is increasing – a challenge that we meet through close cooperation within our team, in direct coordination with the departments for steering and braking ECUs, our colleagues in India and external partners.
An above-average degree (Master, MBA or Promotion) in control technology, vehicle technology or a related area Maximum 3 years of professional experience (besides studying) in driving dynamics simulation and control technology Finded knowledge in real-time multi-body simulation (preferably with SIMPACK or comparable tools) Practical experience with HiL systems and tools (e.g. VI-grade, CANape, ETAS, Bus Systems, Linux) Confidence with AI in engineering (e.g. deep learning, generative AI, optimization) Solid knowledge in MATLAB/Simulink, C and MS Office At least 3 months of experience abroad (study, international internship, work and travel) Excellent English (C2) is required, German knowledge is desirable You strive to shape the transformation at Mercedes-Benz and take responsibility High-motivated team player with pronounced analytical, communicative and independent properties Passion for innovation, responsibility and interdisciplinary cooperation We look forward to your online application.
